The Ball State Cardinals are bowl eligible this season thanks to the play of starting quarterback Keith Wenning.

The sophomore has good stature to look over the defensive front, standing at 6'4".

Wenning has the potential to have a breakout game, and the Huskies' defense will have to be careful.

"I think he's a competitor," said NIU head coach Dave Doeren. "When you watch him, you can see his emotions on the table. I have a lot of respect for him."

Wenning averages just over 230 yards per game this season and has thrown 15 touchdown passes.

The NIU defense has given up its share of yardage through the air, ranking 11th in the MAC in passing yards given up per game.

The Huskies were able to keep Bowling Green quarterback Matt Schilz in check last week, and if NIU continues to put pressure on Wenning like they did against Schilz, they could have similar results as last week's lopsided victory.
