Diamond Riley, Aquilla St. Louis claim top finishes

DeKALB – Fifth year Diamond Riley earned first place in the triple jump and graduate student Aquilla St. Louis’ two second place finishes highlighted NIU women’s track and field’s split squad results 

Riley competed at the Drake Relays this weekend in Des Moines, Iowa at Drake University and competed in the triple jump. 

St. Louis competed at the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola, Iowa and competed in the 100-meter hurdles and the long jump. 

Riley’s official winning jump was 12.75 meters, tying her all time personal best at the college level. This was the first time Riley had won the triple jump since the Blue Devil Invitational on Jan. 20. 

St. Louis took two second-place finishes in her events, taking second in the long jump with a final jump of 5.53 meters. St. Louis also ran a 14.44 second split in the 100-meter hurdles, earning another second-place finish.

The Huskies’ next invitational will be on Saturday in DeKalb at the NIU Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
