A winter weather advisory for Northern Illinois is in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday.
There will be periods of freezing rain and ice accumulation of up to a quarter inch, according to the National Weather Service.
NIU’s campus will switch to virtual operations from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, according to an NIU announcement.
President Lisa Freeman’s State of the University Address has been postponed, according to the NIU announcement.
