NIU softball (17-30, 8-15 MAC) closes out its season on a five-game homestand, starting with a Tuesday doubleheader against Ball State University (22-25, 9-11 MAC).
Then, the Huskies host the No. 1 ranked team in the MAC, the Miami University RedHawks (40-7, 21-1 MAC) in its final series of the 2024 season.

Highlighted by a walk-off home run by freshman catcher Cooper Cohn and excellent pitching performances by freshman pitcher Ty Brachbill and redshirt sophomore pitcher Adam Brouwer, NIU baseball (15-28, 9-12 MAC) won 3 of its 5 games last week. A 9-6 victory over Central Michigan on April 27 secured the Huskies’ first MAC-series win in over a month.
Wednesday, the Huskies will travel to Wisconsin to take on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers (12-28, 9-12 Horizon League) before returning home to host the Ball State University Cardinals (25-18-1, 12-9 MAC) in a three-game weekend series. The Huskies will be in search of back-to-back MAC-series wins with a win over Ball State.

NIU track and field will travel to Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, for a one-day invitational hosted by the University of Illinois.
The Huskies are coming off a weekend where they traveled to three different meets and tallied four first-place finishes. Most notably was junior Emma Vorpagel being crowned the champion of the 800-meter run with a new personal best time of 2 minutes, 14.03 seconds.
