DeKALB – After stunning the college football world with an upset victory over then-No. 5 University of Notre Dame on Saturday, NIU was picked in The Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time since 2013.
NIU is the No. 25 team in the country and the first non-Power Four school to be named in the poll this season. Meanwhile, Notre Dame plummeted from No. 5 to No. 18.
The Huskies received 114 points in the poll to finish ahead of the University of Illinois, who received 101 points to finish as the top school also receiving votes.
