DeKALB – On the heels of Saturday’s stunning upset of the University of Notre Dame, NIU football has been raking in honors.
On Monday, senior running back Antario Brown and senior defensive tackles Cade Haberman and Devonte O’Malley swept the Mid-American Conference’s weekly football awards.
NIU was named the Cheez-It National Team of the Week on Monday, marking the second time the Huskies have earned the honor since their Sept. 16, 2017, win over the University of Nebraska.
O’Malley was also named the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after recording four tackles and a forced fumble in the win.
