After each scoring a goal in NIU women’s soccer’s (8-4-4, 2-3-3 MAC) 2-1 victory over Eastern Michigan University on Friday, sophomore midfielder Isabel Struble and graduate student midfielder Abby Zipse share this week’s Huskie of the Week Award.
Starting the second half down 1-0, Zipse and Struble’s goals came within 10 minutes of each other.
Struble struck first, evening the game in the 48th minute. Zipse followed up by finding the back of the net in the 57th minute, sealing the Huskies’ victory.
The Huskies return to action at 3 p.m. Thursday in Muncie, Indiana, against Ball State University. Streaming is provided by ESPN+ and live stats will be available through SIDEARM Sports.
Next week’s Huskie of the Week will be announced Oct. 28.
The Northern Star sports section’s Huskie of the Week is voted for on a weekly basis. Student-athletes considered for this week’s edition were chosen based on their weekly performance in competitions taking place from Oct. 15 to Oct. 21.
