Daredevil has experienced a lot during his Netflix run. One of the series’ good points was the grounded approach and realistic characters. After seven years, Daredevil steps back to the small screen March 4 in “Daredevil: Born Again.”
Instead of being an entirely new series, the show will continue from where the Netflix series left off in its third season, hence the title of “Born Again.” There will be nine episodes, with the first episode premiering March 4.
Time has passed, both for the cast, viewers and everyone who was involved with the Netflix run of “Daredevil.” Matt Murdock (Daredevil) has set up his law firm with his best friend Franklin “Foggy” Nelson and associate Karen Page.
Meanwhile, Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, is running for mayor of New York City. Fisk is not only strong physically, but also mentally as he’s a master manipulator and has massive influence over the criminal underworld. Murdock is understandably wary of Fisk being in control, but that’s not the only thing he has to worry about.
A terrifying villain named Muse, a serial killer who makes art from his victim’s blood and bodies, is lurking in the shadows. His design in the show matches his comic appearance from 2016, from the beanie down to the suspenders and black and white color scheme.
Next to Fisk and other antagonists like the returning Benjamin Poindexter and police detective Cole North, Muse will bring an unnerving presence to New York.
There is a mix of returning characters like the Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal, as well as new faces like White Tiger, played posthumously by Kamar de los Reyes, who passed away in 2023.
The tension between Murdock and Fisk’s violent tendencies and their own ideologies will build as the series goes on. It is hard to say who will be victorious: the aggressive vigilante on the run or the former mob boss running for mayor. What’s for certain is that the devil of Hell’s Kitchen is here to stay.
