The show “Andor” is praised for being one of the best “Star Wars” shows Disney has made, thanks to its drama, its storytelling and the actor’s performances.
The show is making a comeback with the first three episodes of Season 2 releasing on April 22.
“Andor” tells the story of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), a character who becomes a member of the rebel team, Rogue One.
The film “Rogue One” takes place before the first “Star Wars” film, “Episode IV: A New Hope.” In simpler terms, “Andor” recounts the events that will lead up to “A New Hope.”
Season 2 will have 12 episodes and feature many returning faces from the previous season and “Rogue One,” like the robot K2-SO, voiced by Alan Tudyk.
The trailer’s music is the rock anthem “The Revolution Starts Now” by Steve Earle, which contrasts with “Star Wars’” general sci-fi tone, but the song is about revolution. At the end of Season 1, “Andor” sets the stage for a revolution against the Empire and the song is surprisingly fitting for the tone of Season 2.
Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), an antagonist from “Rogue One,” will return in the series and is seen in the trailer admiring the construction of the Death Star, a massive battlestation the size of a small moon that has the ability to destroy planets.
“Andor” has a lot of new and old faces returning in the second season along with way more action compared to the first season with the trailer showing much more action with riots and destruction of Imperial property. It will be interesting to see how it ties into the “Rogue One” film.
