Athletes charged

Three NIU football players were charged with criminal trespass last month in connection with a DeKalb burglary.

Quarterback Stacey A. Robinson, 21, and defensive end Tim Green, 23, both of 1024 W. Hillcrest Drive, and split end Larry Wynn, Jr., 19, 190 Douglas Hall, were arrested Dec. 20 by DeKalb Police and are scheduled to appear in court Friday.

The athletes were involved in “an incident in which someone reported some people went into their apartment,” said DeKalb Police Lt. Dick Moudy.

A $600 stereo reported stolen was recovered, Moudy said.

NIU Athletic Director Gerald O’Dell said he expects players to obey the law: “There will be no compromising of this athletic department’s values.”
