After going undefeated at the NIU Huskie Indoor Invitational, women’s tennis sophomore Theodora Kousiou is the Northern Star’s Huskie of the Week.
Kousiou and sophomore Irmak Budak went 4-0 in doubles competition, defeating opponents from the University of Illinois Chicago and Indiana University Indianapolis.
Kousiou championed the second flight of singles matches, going 3-0 on the weekend.
Besting Marquette University sophomore Joelle Fiallo Sohad in a 6-1, 6-4 first match, Kousiou went on to take consecutive 6-3 sets against UIC junior Nia Cooper.
In her final singles match of the weekend, Kousiou took UIC senior Anais Brion to a tiebreaker set, which she took 10-8 to take the flight title.

NIU women’s tennis returns to action on Jan. 9 at the Northwestern Invitational in Evanston, Illinois, before beginning its dual season at home against the University of Wisconsin on Jan. 16.
The next Huskie of the Week will be announced Nov. 10.
