New PHC president focuses on future, goals

NIU’s sororities have a new president who said she is ready to get the governing council united and moving forward.

Christina Hulting, an Alpha Delta Pi sorority member and former Panhellenic Council vice president of membership development, was elected PHC president Tuesday night.

“The council has stagnated the past few years,” Hulting said. As president, she said she wants to stop this from happening.

She said she was very pleased with the variety of personalities of the new executives. “There is a great representation of different houses on the new council,” she said.

Some of Hulting’s goals include timely communication of important information to the sorority houses as well as getting the PHC executive board to work together and look toward the future.

Presenting a unified picture of greek life also is one of Hulting’s objectives.

“I want to work closer with the Interfraternity Council so we get all our communication together,” she said. A combined IFC-PHC retreat would be one way to make the members more familiar with each other, she said.
