Two NIU students who were arrested for allegedly dealing drugs from their residence hall room were removed from the hall and might face university suspension.

obert Shorty, 19, Peoria, and Terry Stephens, 18, Chicago, were arrested by the DeKalb County North Central Narcotics Task Force Feb. 2 and Feb. 5 respectively. Both were charged with possession with intent to deliver between 10 and 30 grams of cannabis.

NIU Judicial Office Director Larry Bolles said he has arranged a judicial hearing that might result in the expulsion of the pair within the next week. They are still attending classes while waiting for the hearing, he said.

Early investigation has revealed enough information to proceed with the case, Illinois State Police Capt. Rick Rokusek said. However, Rokusek said he does not expect new information for about two weeks.

Both are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 22 for preliminary hearings.
