Friday, Feb. 2 is NIU’s Invitational Jazz Day, Directed by Ron Modell, NIU music faculty member and director of NIU’s Jazz Ensemble.

Local area high schools and NIU’s Jazz Band will be participating in the event, held in the Music Building’s Concert Hall at 3:10 p.m. For more information, call 753-1450.

Alumni tour opera house

On Feb. 4 NIU alumni and “friends of NIU” will take a special tour of the Lyric Opera House. Along with the tour will be a presentation by Alexander Adducci, an NIU theater professor.

This tour will include prop, dressing, makeup and wardrobe rooms and the orchestra pit. For more information call 753-1452.
