Hunan House: offers DeKalb ethnic variety

By y Gina Quilici

Hunan House, 1221 W. Lincoln Hwy., offers the DeKalb area a spectacular taste of the Orient night nearby, or if you wish, without even leaving home.

Hunan House offers a wide variety of dishes in Mandarin, Cantonese or Szechwan (spicy) style. By choosing different dishes you can find the taste that’s just right for you.

unan House offers appetizers and soups for a light meal, or as a filler while you wait for your meal. For the entree you can choose dishes made from pork, poultry, seafood, beef and many other ethnic favorites. Vegatable dishes are also available for those who don’t eat meat.

The manager of the Hunan House said that it is difficult to say which dishes are the most popular. His reasoning for this is that even the regular customers are always trying something new.

In addition to the food, the facilities and the decor help create the truly oriental atmosphere. Live plants welcome customers at the doorway and oriental art greets them throughout the restaurant.

The Hunan House is available for more than just a casual dinner. A party room is available for any banquet occasion and can hold up to 200 people.

Sunday is a special day as the Hunan House offers a Sunday brunch. For only $7.95 you can choose foods from over 20 different items available, including champagne.

The restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. on Sunday; 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Delivery is also available.
