Help provided for job hunters

Welcome back to NIU! If you plan to graduate this December or next May or August and will be seeking employment following graduation, you will definitely want to stop in the Career Planning and Placement Center in Swen Parson Hall early this fall. Regardless of the type or location of employment you will be seeking, there are many services offered by the center which will help you in your job search.

Last year was a record year for the number of employers recruiting our graduates. Nearly 800 employers came to the campus to interview graduating students, either as part of our regular campus recruiting program or through one of the several job fairs offered during the year. Additionally, hundreds of other employers listed positions for which graduates could apply directly.

We also offer workshops and individual assistance to help you prepare your resume, interview effectively and to finalize a job offer. We have directories and employer information so that you can do your research on the employers you are interested in. In short, just about everything you will need to land that desired job after graduation is available to you right here on campus.

Stop in soon and check us out. Be sure to ask for your free copy of the Job Hunter’s Guide.
