Dave Duschene, in his March 31 column, alluded to Brigham Young University, and thereby the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, being involved in what has been called “Pearlygate.” Those who have followed the controversy know that this is not the case. Neither BYU nor its sponsoring church utilize television evangelists to solicit money or contributions, and they are not connected with the persons or organizations implicated in the events Mr. Duschene calls a “most unbelievable spectacle.”
