Sycamore Park District to host 5k

By Northern Star Staff

On Nov. 1, the Coyote 5K, a first time event, is being held at the Sycamore Park District grounds.

This event is sponsored by seven different local businesses hoping to make an impact in the area: Jewel Osco Foundation, Resource Bank, DeKalb Mechanical, First National Bank, Athletico Physical Therapy, Family Wellness and Rehab and the Sycamore Park District.

The cost of admission to the 5K is $30 and funds will go toward the Midwest Museum of Natural History.

At 6:30 p.m., Big Run Wolf Ranch will be bringing coyotes as well as other small mammals to show off at the Sycamore Park District Clubhouse.

Big Run Wolf Ranch has been working towards preserving wildlife for 30 years and counting. Their mission statement is as follows, “Big Run Wolf Ranch is a non-profit, federally licensed, educational facility which specializes in the education and conservation of North American wildlife.”

At 8 p.m. the race starts and will be proceeded by a party at the finish line. Prizes will be given out to the top place male and female runners by age group.

Everyone who ran will receive a long sleeve shirt. Also, a free cup with a beer or soft drink is being given out as well.

Please come out and support a great cause.
