The Wrestling team celebrated its season’s end Saturday at an awards banquet where the coaching staff handed out 10 team awards to 11 Huskie wrestlers.

Redshirt-senior Elijah Jeffery was the lone Huskie that took home two awards. Jeffery was named “Most Dedicated” and “Lifter of the Year” after finishing with an 18-11 overall and 7-3 MAC record.

After finishing with a team-best 25 wins, redshirt first-year Brit Wilson was awarded team MVP. Wilson was named second-team All-MAC and competed at the NCAA Championships.

Redshirt first-year Will Feldkamp was giving the “True Grit” award from his coaching staff. The “True Grit” award is given to the Huskie wrestler that shows much resolve and character throughout the season and in their matches.

Redshirt first-years Drew and Bryce West each took home an award. Bryce was given “Most Improved” while his twin, Drew, was awarded the “Huskie Pride” award.

Three Huskies were acknowledged for their work in the classroom. Sophomore Nolan Baker, redshirt first-year Mason Kauffman and first-year Nik Derain were all awarded academic awards.

Some other awards included first-year Gage Braun with the “Outstanding Redshirt” award and redshirt-senior Andrew Scott with the “11th Man” award.
