Put your best boot forward with this year’s fall fashion trends.

In stores, we are seeing the ankle boot cut with suede making its competitive debut. Although retail stores are pushing this style, there’s no pressure to express your inner boot goddess.

From combat boots to knee high, your choices of what to wear are more versatile. As “Footloose” would say, kick off your Sunday shoes, and rock your favorite fall boot this season.

Everyone needs to get their hands on a pair of these because now they have become the staple of fall wardrobes. You can find a pair of lace-up, brown leather boots for $14.99 at Charlotte Russe. Senior finance major Ana Cajamarca loves to keep up with fall trends and is loyal to the combat boot squad.

“Well, I have many different places where I like to buy my boots from. For example, my combat boots, I love to get them from Steven Madden or anywhere they sell cute ones.” Cajamarca said that her ‘perfect’ boot has to be comfy and warm to go with her sweater weather outfits.

Ankle cut boots are making their way in stores this season with prints, leather and suede. These shoes easily slip on and are ideal for the nonstop college student rushing in the morning. However, it does hurt to put your own flare to your style. Junior journalism major Kate McKinsey, is not afraid to make her style her own.

“During the fall, I usually wear ankle high boots with some cute, funky socks. I also have a pair of funky floral boots that I like to pull out every once and awhile.” When McKinsey looks for her perfect pair, she looks for something versatile in color and style that can be used for most occasions.

Short-cut boots are not the only trend you need to follow. Stomp out the haters with fierce, over-the-knee boots (also known as OKT boots) from major fashion magazines that can turn your outfit from no way to slay. Boots can have the power to boost your style confidence. Stores don’t have to dictate what you wear, according to Shayla Robinson, junior political science major. She doesn’t shop in one place and tries to create wide variety in her wardrobe.

“My perfect boot is a fitted over-the-knee high boot with a chunky heel that has pretty decor.” Robinson is not defined by trends, rather she buys what she likes.

No matter your boot preference, it’s important to include them in your closet. They could be the lifesaver to an outfit you need. Everyone has their comfy go-to boots, so if you don’t have the one, go find your match made in heaven.
