Welcome back, college chefs! This week’s blog features another pasta recipe: a cheesy tuna casserole. Remember, you can always add your own variation to any recipe to make it as spicy or flavorful as you like. Less than five ingredients are required for this recipe, making it quick and easy. Let’s get started!

Tuna Casserole

Start to finish: 15 minutes

Servings: 2-4

16 ounce jar of Double Cheddar Ragu

Saltine crackers

5 ounce can of tuna in water

1 box medium shells

**All ingredients purchased at:

Schnucks
975 S. Annie Glidden Rd.

DeKalb, IL 60115

For this recipe, you will need one large microwavable bowl or casserole dish.

Cook the entire box of pasta according to the directions (usually boiling for 8-9 minutes). You can find medium shell noodles in different brands at Schnucks ($1.29), but you can purchase Schnucks brand large shells as well (89 cents on sale, regular price $1.19)

Once the pasta is fully cooked, drain the water and pour them into the microwavable bowl. Then, pour the Ragu cheese sauce over the noodles; I use the Double Cheddar Ragu sauce from Schnucks ($1.99). You can use other preferred sauces, but I find this goes well with the flavor of the tuna.

Stir the dish until fully mixed and then open and drain the tuna. I use the Schnucks brand tuna in water (68 cents). After opening, scrape the shredded tuna into the bowl.

Stir until it’s evenly mixed. Take 14 saltine crackers from the package and crumble them on top of your dish to make a crust. You can use more saltines if you’d like all the noodles to be covered. I buy the Schnucks brand saltine crackers ($1.99).

Next, put the bowl into the microwave and cook on HIGH for 2 minutes.
