“We’ll Teach Them How To Say Goodbye”

By Rachel Sanchez

Four weeks and counting till the end of the semester which means  packing things up for summer break. This time can be very stressful in trying to finish the year out strong but with the right tips and tricks the process of moving out won’t be a hassle.

Bring Out the Boxes             https://media.giphy.com/media/exeF8mru2fFUA/giphy.gif

For those that see cardboard boxes and feel anxiety from the times you had moved as a kid, take it one box at a time. Label each one to make the process of finding items later easier. Label one for donation and have a garbage bag on deck because you won’t need those old math notes, or those twenty thingamabobs.

DIY Garment Bags

It may be your first instinct to start with the clothes, but don’t make the rookie mistake of taking the clothes off the hanger and throwing them in a box. Your favorite shirt will be wrinklier than a Shar Pei and what are you going to do with the extra hangers? Round up the 30 below zero outfits and turn your garbage bag into a durable garment bag. It’s easier to transport your clothes without taking up room in your car with all those boxes.

That’s a Wrap

Prevent the headache of spills from your expensive coconut shampoo by using saran wrap to cover the openings. This seems minor, but it’ll go a long way from stopping the leaks. One bump of the box could be enough to ruin other items inside and add onto the pile of stress. Saran wrap will be your best friend for wrapping all your prized possessions.

Remember to use these tricks when your time is up and you’re ready to move out of your dorm or apartment. Although both are equally small spaces of habitation, the process of moving out are much different. Students who live in their dorms don’t have to worry about moving the bed or other furniture as opposed to students who live  on campus apartments, they may need a lot more help.
