Spring bird’s nest recipe

Fly into spring by baking bird’s nest-themed French vanilla cupcakes, the perfect snack to curb any sweet tooth with style.


• 1 cup of water

• ½ cup of vegetable oil

• 3 eggs

• 1 box French vanilla cake mix

• 12 ounce bag of chocolate chips

• 10 ounce bag of candy-coated chocolate eggs

• 1 container of whipped fluffy white frosting

• 24 cupcake baking cups


1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Pour water and vegetable oil into a mixing bowl.

3. Crack open three eggs and add to bowl.

4. Mix ingredients with the mixer on medium speed, or with a whisk, until ingredients are puddinglike. This should take about 2 minutes.

5. Place cupcake cups into cupcake baking tray.

6. Pour batter from step 4 into cupcake cups. Cupcakes should be evenly filled to about one half inch from the top.

7. Once oven is preheated, put cupcakes into oven and bake for 28 to 33 minutes.

8. Once done, allow cupcakes to cool for 5 to 10 minutes.


1. Take butter knife and spread vanilla frosting on top of cupcakes. Make sure there is a ring of frosting on the edge of the cupcake.

2. Place chocolate chips in the center of the the cupcake top.

3. Place three of the egg candy pieces on top of the chocolate chips.
