If you’re anything like me, you probably need the extra motivation to workout because Netflix and your couch are begging you to stay.

Between classes, work and extracurriculars, it can be hard to squeeze that much needed and earned relaxation time in. However, I have the perfect solution to help you keep your New Year’s resolution without sacrificing the latest Netflix binge: watching Netflix while you work out! Now you have no excuse to miss the latest episode of “Riverdale” or your workout.

“Family Guy”

If you’re only working out for a limited time, I recommend watching a 30 minute episode of “Family Guy.” I have shamelessly made it my personal mission to watch every episode while working out. They have lighthearted adult humor that makes time go by faster… at least faster than watching the teasing cooking shows that taunt my willpower.

“Russell Howard: Recalibrate”

Netflix has some great hour-long stand up comedy shows. For those of you who prefer dry British humor, Russell Howard has a lovely optimistic approach to world events. This perky blonde brit is sure to lift those sweaty spirits. I can’t help but giggle at his stand up, but at least it makes my workout halfway enjoyable.

“Grey’s Anatomy”

If you’re committing to a regular workout routine, I advise you to pair your workouts with a long-lasting Netflix series like “Grey’s Anatomy.” Associate the show with working out and only watch the episodes while at the gym. This will help you feel the need to work out; pairing the two helps motivate me, especially because the series is so binge worthy!

“Conspiracy”

“Conspiracy” is a Netflix documentary series that will engulf you in anything but your arduous ellipticalling. Conspiracy theories are a great way to get absorbed into something other than your sweat-soaked athletic wear.

Get pumped with “Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2”

With Marvel movies seeping with choreographed action scenes, I often feel inspired to achieve such levels of athleticism, although I have accepted a six pack isn’t in my foreseeable future. Nevertheless, watching action movies while running is a great way to keep those endorphins up!

Hopefully my list helps you to stay motivated to workout, while not sacrificing your precious Netflix time. One thing is for certain: whether you’re watching Netflix or not, be sure to stay hydrated while running a marathon on the treadmill!
