NIU closes campus Friday, anticipates heavy snow

DeKALB — The university will be closed Friday in anticipation of a snow storm expected to hit the DeKalb area.

NIU announced all classes will be canceled for the day, and all offices will be closed, according to a Thursday NIU announcement. Events during the day, including the Transfer Open House, are canceled as well.

All of Thursday’s evening classes and activities will proceed as scheduled but those who anticipate a delayed arrival or absence due to the weather are encouraged to contact their faculty members and supervisors.

The Holmes Student center will remain open, and evening events commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Feb. 14, 2008, campus shooting will proceed as planned.
