3 Movies That Will Make You Say WTF

By Eve Grunauer

While no one likes a predictable film, it’s almost worse to be left wondering what even happened in the movie. This uneasy feeling will leave you searching Google for answers as to what actually happened. In order to stay away from a mind boggling sensation, make sure to stay away from these three movies that will make you say WTF. Or, watch them, if you’re into that sort of thing.

“Vertigo” (1958)

“Vertigo, directed by Alfred Hitchcock, is probably one of the best early examples of cinematic mental contortion. Without giving away spoilers, the ending of the film can be interpreted into many different meanings; however, your biggest question will probably be “what the hell just happened?!” Throughout multiple characters deaths and mental breakdowns, you will probably be thinking how on earth will there be an ending to this messed up movie.

“Inception” (2010)

“Inception,” directed by Christopher Nolan, is a dream inside a dream all inside some crazy feverish third dream. While there are some visual cues to tell you what dream you are watching, it was still nearly impossible to figure out what was really happening. Also, there are changing worlds where you are constantly having to learn that world’s ways. The ending will leave you wondering if it was a dream or reality or something else what leaves you to say WTF.

“Shutter Island” (2010)

“Shutter Island,” directed by Martin Scorsese, will have you believing the main character is a detective and then all of a sudden the world has flipped around and everything was a lie. To go along with the lie, everything can be turned into a crazy conspiracy theory about the island. It is necessary to have someone explain the ending or turn to Google because it will definitely make you feel like your mind has turned into jello and you can’t grasp reality.
