An armed robbery occurred Friday at 4:12 p.m. at Fifth Third Bank, 2707 Sycamore Rd.

The robber was described as “a dark skin male, with a bald head, muscular build, 6 foot 2 inches, 220 pounds, carrying a werewolf mask, wearing white-leather work gloves, long-sleeve blue shirt, heavy work style boots and blue jeans,” according to an NIU Safety Bulletin.

The suspect climbed over the counter after demanding money from a clerk. No employees at the bank were injured.

DeKalb Police are following up on three leads and as of Friday, the suspect is at large, according to a DeKalb Police press release.

NIU Police were sent to the Monsanto Building, 3100 Sycamore Rd, which is a half mile from the bank as a safety precaution, according to an NIU Safety Bulletin.
