School of Music to hold flute, percussion concert

The School of Music will hold a concert of new music for flute and percussion at 8 p.m. today in the Music Building, Recital Hall.

The program will feature guest artist Stefanie Abderhalden accompanied by graduate percussion student Kyle Flens. 

Abderhalden will play all members of the flute family: piccolo, flute, alto flute, bass flute and contrabass flute. 

Abderhalden is a flutist and private instructor. She also performs in solo and chamber recitals and acts as a member of the DuPage Symphony Orchestra and Fox Valley Orchestra.

Flens is a percussionist from Baltimore and a member of Projeto Arcomusical. He has performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, the Institutio Inhotim in Brazil and in various locations of the Chicagoland area.

Admission is free and open to the public.
