Senior guard Travon Baker was named MAC West Player of the Week for the second time this season, averaging 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in victories against Central Michigan University on Jan. 19 and Toledo on Friday.

Baker scored a game-high 19 points on 7-15 shooting from the field in the 75-70 comeback win against Central Michigan. The senior also dished out four assists and recorded two steals in 39 minutes.

Baker scored a game-high 21 points in 38 minutes and netted six triples against the Rockets, one shy of his career-high set against Eastern Michigan on Jan. 9. He also finished the game with two assists, two steals and a game-high nine rebounds.

Baker’s second steal in the Toledo game was the 163rd of his college career, which tied the NIU record set by Ronald Minter (1993-97).

Baker is averaging 12.5 points per game, 3.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game this season. The guard also has a 44 percent three-point field goal percentage.

This is the third honor for the Huskies this season. Sophomore center Marin Maric received the same honor Dec. 21.
