An off-campus attempted armed robbery was reported to have occurred at 1:17 a.m. today in the 900 block of Greenbrier Road, according to an NIU safety bulletin.

The victim reported he was walking northwest on Greenbrier Road when three males approached him and one displayed a knife and demanded all of his belongings, according to the safety bulletin. The three suspects struck the victim in the face and body and knocked him to the ground.

The suspects were described as a 5-foot-10 male wearing a black The North Face jacket, 5-foot-8 male wearing a black The North Face jacket and ski mask and a 5-foot-8 male wearing a blue jacket and black ski mask, according to the safety bulletin.

DeKalb Police is investigating the incident.
