Football (8-6, 6-2 MAC) ended its season with a 55-7 loss to Boise State in the Poinsettia Bowl on Wednesday.

Boise State got the game started quickly, outscoring the Huskies 21-0 in the first quarter. Junior receiver Aregeros Turner returned a kick-off 95 yards in the second quarter to give NIU its first and only score of the game. The Huskies trailed 31-7 at halftime.

The Broncos continued to dominate all phases of the game in the second half, scoring another 10 points in the quarter and racking up a ton of yards on offense. Boise State put up another 14 points in the final quarter, effectively giving it the 48-point victory. They put up 654 yards of offense in the win. The Huskies managed just 33 yards in the game. They finished with no rushing yards and only 38 passing yards.

NIU turned the ball over three times, leading to 17 Boise State points. The Broncos turned the ball over once on an interception.
