Here’s what NIU is listening to this week:

“I am pretty diverse with my music,” said junior marketing major Haley Shumaker. “I listen to different music depending on my mood. I vary from EDM to hip-hop pretty often.”

Shumaker said buying Spotify Premium was one of her smartest decisions.

“I am always listening to music,” Shumaker said. “I love songs that instantly put you in a good mood; that’s what I look for”

Shumaker said her favorite song changes weekly.

No. 1 Song: “Roses” -The Chainsmokers

Senior communication major Alexa Torman said Timeflies is her favorite band. Torman said she sticks to upbeat songs that make her feel good.

“I really pay attention to the words when I listen to music lately,” Torman said. “I think lyrics have a huge affect on my favorite songs.”

No. 1 Song: “Hello” -Adele

“EDM is by far my favorite type of music, but it’s weird because I listen to jazz a lot too,” said junior accounting major Aaron Lotter.

Lotter said Flume is his favorite EDM artist.
