Volleyball (14-10, 10-2 MAC) will face off against Toledo and Ball State in its second-to-last weekend of the regular season. The team is first in the MAC West and will play for a spot in the MAC Tournament.

Head coach Ray Gooden said NIU expects both Ball State and Toledo to play their best. NIU has been focusing on consistency and improving in all areas in practice.

Sophomore Anna Brereton is coming off of a very successful weekend and said she is confident in the team.

“Playing Central and Eastern Michigan was great preparation for Ball State in particular because the teams have a similar style of play,” Brereton said. “We’re prepared to work hard because now we know we have to keep winning in order to grab that spot in the MAC.”

NIU has won three games in a row and 10 of its last 12. It will finish the regular season 18-10 if it is able to win out its last four games.

Game one against Toledo will take place at 7 p.m. Friday and game two against Ball State will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday. Both games will take place at Victor E. Court.

The MAC Tournament will begin Nov. 19 in Athens, Ohio.
