Today

Homecoming starts with a kick off rally noon to 2 p.m. in the Martin Luther King Jr. Commons. Students can listen to music and eat barbeque as the Homecoming royalty is introduced. Contact the Campus Activities Board at 815-753-1580 for more information.

Tuesday

The annual Recycled Boat Race will begin at 4 p.m. at the East Lagoon. Participants will build boats from recycled materials and race them across the lagoon to win one of three coupons. Contact the Campus Activities Board at 815-753-1580 for more information.

Wednesday

Five king and five queen candidates will be on the ballot as students vote in the Martin Luther King Jr. Commons and online. Contact Sumiko Keay 815-753-1580.

Competing teams will show off their cheerleading routines during the annual Yell Like Hell competition at 9 p.m. in the Convocation Center. Contact the Campus Activities Board at 815-753-1580 for more information.

Thursday

The Homecoming parade, going along with this year’s Huskies Light the Way theme, will be held 7-8 p.m. The parade will feature vehicles with decorative lights. The route will begin at Gilbert Drive and end on Third Street. Contact Sumiko Keay at 815-753-1580 for more information.

Phi Rho Eta Fraternity Inc. will host a lip-sync competition 8-11:30 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, Carl Sandburg Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and available at bit.ly/1NjnKad.

Friday

The Homecoming king and queen will be crowned during the Coronation Cookout 3-7 p.m. at the West Lagoon, north of Grant Hall. Listen to music and eat with friends as the royalty is crowned at 6 p.m.

Rich Homie Quan and special guests Hoodie Allen and DJ Jamal Smallz will headline this year’s Homecoming concert at 8 p.m. in the Convocation Center. Tickets are $25 for students or $32 for the public at the Convocation Center box office, bit.ly/1OmnCKn.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council will hold a dance called College Craze Part II 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the Recreation Center, Courts seven and eight. Tickets, $5 for students and $7 for guests, may be purchased at bit.ly/1LwGeBj.

Saturday
