Center for Black Studies searching for Neighborhood Block Party volunteers

By Northern Star staff

The Center for Black Studies is looking for volunteers for the second annual Neighborhood Block Party.

The Neighborhood Block party is an opportunity for students to participate in activities that promote inclusiveness and involvement, said graduate assistant Tamara Boston, who is coordinating the event. The party will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Chick Evans Field House.

Volunteers will put together activities that involve students of different backgrounds working together.

The Neighborhood Block Party “brings … getting to know each other,” Boston said. “It’s a good way for the students to see the organizations on campus.”

The deadline to apply for a volunteer position is Tuesday. Call or email Boston at 815-593-8092 or [email protected] to volunteer or for more information.
