A man who told DeKalb police he was robbed Friday morning at 800 Spiros Court admitted to filing a false report, according to an NIU Safety Bulletin update.

The man reported to police he was thrown to the ground by three men, who he said took $40 and a phone at 1:20 a.m., according to NIU.

The case has been determined unfounded by DeKalb police, according to NIU.
