Get outside this week and enjoy some local art, music and food events.

Monday

Want to check out some magical artwork? Off Broadway, a Retrospect, is an exhibit of hand-painted limited edition Intaglio prints created by Dale Osterle. Prints include portraits of well-known places like the Statue of Liberty. The exhibit is open 2-4 p.m. at Glidden Goods, 917 W. Lincoln Highway.

Tuesday

If you like live music and fresh food, Sycamore’s Farmers Market is the place for you this summer. The market will feature 17 vendors and food demonstrations from local chefs, as well as a music performance from Col. Boyd’s Dixie Band at 5 p.m. The market will take place 3-7 p.m. on the corner of Elm and Somonauk Streets in downtown Sycamore.

Wednesday

The Usborne Book Fair is the perfect event for bookworms. The fair will take place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Midwest Museum of Natural History, 425 W. State Street in Sycamore. Admittance to the museum is also free this day so be sure to check out some exhibits while you’re there.

Thursday

The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra will hold its free annual Summer Concert in the Park at the Hopkins Park Band Shell, 1403 Sycamore Road. The orchestra, led by conductor Linc Smelser, will perform patriot favorites, modern movie music and popular classical songs from 8-10 p.m.

Friday

If you’re a fan of craft beer, you’ll definitely want to get your hands on Lakefront Brewery’s special edition beer brewed with grapefruit peel exclusively for Fatty’s. The craft beer event will start at 5 p.m. at Fatty’s Pub & Grille, 1312 W. Lincoln Highway.

Saturday

Check out a variety of punk-rock and ska-punk from local bands Cheap Dates, The Usuals, Lester & The Finks and The Butchered. The show starts at 8 p.m. at the House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Highway. Tickets cost $5 and can be purchased at HouseCafeDeKalb.com or at the door.
