Da’Ron Brown, football redshirt senior wide receiver, takes the No. 9 spot on Sports’ countdown after highlighting a depleted receiving corps in 2014.

Brown, who earned All-MAC Second Team honors, led all receivers with 68 receptions for 1,065 yards and six touchdowns. His 1,065 yards accounted for 39.6 percent of the Huskies’ receiving yards.

Brown, who attended Morgan Park High School, may be selected in the 2015 NFL Draft, which begins April 30 and ends May 2 in Chicago, his hometown. He grew up as a Chicago Bears fan, but he said he’d love to play for whichever team drafts him or signs him as an undrafted free agent — even if it is the archrival Green Bay Packers.

“To me, it doesn’t matter,” Brown said, according to a March 6 Northern Star article. “I’ll go to whoever wants me, whoever likes me.”
