
Men’s tennis sophomore Carlos Manzanas was named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Manzanas went 2-0 in his singles matches last week, winning 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday and 6-1, 6-2 on Sunday. He improved his record in singles play to 18-9, and he has won eight of his last nine singles matches dating back to March 8.
Manzanas and freshman Louis-Philippe Hamel won their doubles match, 6-3, on Sunday.
Manzanas owns a 4.0 GPA as a mechanical engineering major. He’s the second Huskie to be named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week this season after junior Simon Formont, who has won the award twice.
