The DeKalb Police Department has received reports of unregistered solicitors attempting to inspect residents’ homes for storm damage.

The solicitors, who use an 815 area code, claim they work for Premier Service and their company works for the city, according to a police news release. The callers use intimidation and insist on face-to-face meetings where they ask for payment up front for repair work, according to police.
