NIU baseball: Huskies host UIC, Bradley

By Northern Star staff

Baseball plays host to a pair of in-state teams this week as it seeks to end its nine-game losing streak.

The Huskies (13-21) will take on the Illinois-Chicago Flames (16-12-1) on Tuesday and the Bradley Braves (22-9) on Wednesday. First pitch for the games is set for 3:05 p.m. at Ralph McKinzie Field.

NIU is mired in a season-long nine-game losing streak under first-year head coach Mike Kunigonis. The Huskies’ last victory was an 11-2 win over the Bowling Green Falcons on March 28 in DeKalb.

The two midweek games will be just the second homestand of the season for the Huskies. They are 2-5 on their home turf but have dropped five in a row.

NIU is 1-5 in midweek games this season.
