Track and field will compete in Illinois for the third time this year and the first time during the outdoor season.

The Huskies head to the EIU Big Blue Classic 2 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Saturday in Charleston. Eastern Illinois hosts the meet.

Other in-state teams that will be present include Illinois, Bradley, Southern Illinois, Western Illinois and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. Over 1,000 student-athletes will participate in the meet.

The Huskies are coming off a weekend in which four student-athletes broke outdoor school records in their respective events.

NIU took second place in both of its previous events in Illinois during the indoor season: Jan. 17 a the Illini Classic and Feb. 21 at the Orange and Blue Open.
