Weekend Guide: March 19

By Northern Star staff

The first week back from break is usually exhausting.

Unwind this weekend with some local events and activities:

Today

Take advantage of the (somewhat) higher temperatures this week and join Outdoor Adventures for a free hour-long bike ride.

Bring friends or make ones while you hit local trails with bikers of all skill levels.

If you don’t have a bike, Outdoor Adventures will loan you one for free. Bikers meet 4:30 p.m. at the Campus Recreation Center.

Friday

End a long week with relaxation and rejuvenation at Spring Restorative Yoga with instructor Beverlee Burke. The workshop is 6-8 p.m. at Creative Therapeutics, 400 E. Hillcrest Drive, and costs $20.

Saturday

With a tagline of #nowords and #justmusic, Campus Activities Board presents Masters of the DJ Mix, a four-way DJ battle.

The battle kicks off at 7 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, Carl Sandburg Auditorium, and is free for students with a OneCard.

Sunday

Going on another adventure after break sounds exhausting. Instead, sit back and let Bilbo and the dwarves do the work.

“The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” will be shown at 7:30 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, Carl Sandburg Auditorium.

Sit back and have a laugh with lifelong friends and comedians Corey Caldwell and Anna Irving in a satirical sketch revue called “My Breath Smells Like Laughter.” The show costs $12 and starts 7 p.m. at The House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Highway.
