NIU baseball: Huskies host Milwaukee in midweek Matinee

Baseball closes out the month of March with a midweek matinee against the Milwaukee Panthers on Tuesdsay.

The Huskies (13-13) host the Panthers (11-8) at 3:05 p.m. today at Ralph McKinzie Field seeking their first winning record in March since 2007.

NIU will be playing its fourth home game of the season after opening the year on a 23-game road trip. The Huskies took two of three from the Bowling Green Falcons on Friday and Saturday in DeKalb, recording 36 hits and 25 runs.

NIU and Milwaukee last met April 23 in DeKalb with the Huskies squeezing out a 3-2 win.

The last time the Huskies finished above .500 in the month of March was 2007, when they went 12-7 under then-head coach Ed Mathey.
