An NIU football player posted a photo to Instagram that may show the new design layout of Huskie Stadium’s turf.

Redshirt freshman punter Peter Deppe posted the photo around 1 p.m. Tuesday with a message of “New year, new team, new turf. #GoHuskies.”

The post was taken down around 3:25 p.m.

Athletic Director Sean Frazier confirmed in a March 2 Northern Star article that Huskie Stadium will get new turf before the 2015 season. Frazier said there will be a new design component on the football field turf, but he would only say “people will like it and it’ll be very traditional to the state of Illinois.”
