By Northern Star staff

Men’s golf finished in fifth place out of 15 teams at the Talis Park Challenge on Monday in Naples, Fla.

The Huskies’ score of 869 (282, 290, 297) for 17-over par made them the highest MAC finisher. They finished ahead of Miami (Ohio), Eastern Michigan, Toledo, Ball State and Akron.

The three-round score of 869 is NIU’s lowest score since the FAU Spring Break Championship on March 23-25, 2012, when the team scored an 853. Dating back to the fall season, this is the Huskies’ second top-five finish in their last three tournaments.
