The Student-Alumni Mentoring Program kicks off on Saturday, according to an NIU announcement.

The Student-Alumni Mentoring Program aims to provide students with guidance through mentors’ educational and professional experiences, according to its website.

The program’s first event is 4-7 p.m. at the Convocation Center in the south lobby. Faculty and staff are invited to become mentors, and mentors and mentees are invited.

The event will feature a complimentary dinner buffet and cash bar before a doubleheader of women’s and men’s basketball.

The schedule:

4-6:30 p.m.: Dinner buffet and cash bar

4:45 p.m.: Brief overview of the mentoring program

5 p.m.: Women’s basketball: NIU vs. Akron

7 p.m.: Men’s basketball: NIU vs. Bowling Green

To become a mentor, an application is available on the Alumni Association website.
