Men’s baseball looks to keep its season-opening hot streak going when it leaves the frigid cold of DeKalb for Lubbock, Texas.

The Huskies (3-0) will play a four-game series against the Texas Tech Red Raiders(4-1) this weekend. The two teams square off with a doubleheader beginning 2 p.m. Friday and a second doubleheader starting noon Saturday.

The Huskies are coming off a season-opening 3-0 weekend at the Governor’s Challenge in Clarksville, Tenn. They beat South Dakota State 10-6 Feb. 13, Niagara 15-5 Saturday and South Dakota State 9-6 Sunday.

Junior shortstop Brian Sisler led the Huskies offensively, batting .571 (8-14) with three doubles, four runs and seven RBIs. Pitchers Dirk Ormsby, Seth Fuller and Kevin Jones picked up one win apiece on the mound.

Texas Tech is currently ranked No. 5 in the nation by Baseball America, No. 7 by Collegiate Baseball and No. 8 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

The Red Raiders enter the four-game series fresh off their first loss of the season. They won their first four games before losing to the Nevada Wolf Pack, 8-4, Tuesday at home.
