4 best places to get warm around campus

It’s important to bundle up and avoid frostbite by stopping to warm up frequently.

Here are the coziest and best places to warm up on campus and around DeKalb.


Neptune Central

Neptune Central has fireplaces, relaxing piano music, comfy couches — what more can you ask for? There’s always people chilling here and it’s definitely got some warm vibes to combat the freezing temps.

The College Grind, Holmes Student Center

This cute cybercafe, conveniently located in the Holmes Student Center, features a computer lab and printing, coffee counter and lounge area.

Open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday to Sunday


New Hall, main level across from check-in desk

New Hall features a cozy fireplace and lounge area, as well as a large dining area for those with meal plans.

Starbucks, 1015 W. Lincoln Highway

Starbucks is the perfect quick and convenient stop for a hot beverage between classes on a freezing day. Cut through the fence behind Graham Hall for a shortcut. Bonus: free Wi-Fi.
