NIU women’s basketball: Amanda Corral named MAC West Player of the Week

Senior guard Amanda Corral was named MAC West Player of the Week, the conference announced today.

Corral scored 30 points — tying her career high — Wednesday in a 67-50 win over the Bowling Green Falcons. She followed that up with a 26-point performance Saturday as the Huskies prevailed against the Ball State Cardinals, 65-62.

Corral finished the week with 56 points on 21-29 (72.4 percent) shooting from the field, including 6-7 (85.7 percent) from beyond the arc, and went 8-8 from the charity stripe.

She also grabbed 11 boards, dished out eight assists, recorded two steals and blocked one shot in the two-game span.

Corral last won the MAC West Player of the Week award Nov. 21, 2011.
